WHERE THE WORK HAPPENS
I’m Ivan Bodnar, an independent renovation specialist based in Melbourne, Victoria. I work on residential bathroom renovations in Malvern and the surrounding Melbourne suburbs, and I deal directly with each homeowner from the first look at the room through to completion.
Whether I can take on a particular project depends on my availability and on what I find when I assess the bathroom. So the best first step is a conversation.

HOW THE AREA WORKS
I’ve worked in Australia since 2016 and in Melbourne since 2019. I work as a sole trader, so the person you call is the person who comes to look at your bathroom and is responsible for the work.
My main focus is complete bathroom renovations in Malvern and the suburbs around it. There are no branch offices or separate crews for different areas, so each job needs to be close enough for me to manage personally.
If your home is a little further out, it’s still worth asking. Whether I can take on a specific project depends on my availability and on the scope I find during the on-site assessment.

CHAPTER 01 — THE MAIN SERVICE
The homeowners I can help most usually have a bathroom that has become outdated, hard to keep clean, awkward to use or is starting to show signs of deterioration. That means working with an existing room, and what sits behind its tiles matters as much as what you’ll see when the job is finished.
My work covers preparation, tiling, plasterboard, plastering and interior finishing. Plumbing, electrical and other regulated components are completed by appropriately licensed specialists where required, and I can coordinate their involvement.
