04 / ASSESSMENT
What gets measured, and what the quote itemises
At the assessment we record wall and floor dimensions, ceiling height, door and window positions, existing fixture locations, floor substrate, wall lining condition, waste and water points, and the switchboard and exhaust arrangement. We also look for the things that change a scope: movement in the floor, previous patch repairs, and signs of water where it should not be. That is the reality behind wet-area membrane work and shower rebuilds.
The written quote then sets out demolition and disposal, plumbing and electrical rough-in, framing and lining, waterproofing, screeds and falls, tiling by area and format, cabinetry and tapware, screens, and the finishing trades. Selection allowances are listed separately so you can see exactly which decisions still move the number.
05 / PREPARATION
What to have ready
None of this is compulsory. It simply means the first conversation is about your bathroom rather than about basic facts.
